Dr Darlene Newnham started her career as a nurse, graduating from Queen’s University with a BScN and BA(psych). She served as a Nursing Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for three years before attending Medical School at the University of Toronto. Following a Family Practice residency at McMaster University, she served as a physician in the military, becoming a specialist in dive and aviation medicine. In 2009, at the rank of Major, she retired from the CAF and continues to work part-time at CFB Borden. In 2005, she found her passion in Cosmetic Medicine. She is a certified advanced injector of neuromodulators (dysport and botox) and hyaluronic acid fillers. She bases her practice out of Barrie and Toronto, where she loves meeting with her patients to provide a personalized, in depth consultation, answering all their questions and discussing their expectations. She looks forward to follow up visits where she shares in the excitement and satisfaction of her patients’ more rested and youthful appearance. She is thrilled to be part of the CAMA team where she can teach, mentor and share her years of experience. When not practicing medicine, Darlene’s passions are family, friends, Prosecco, cycling and fundraising for The Tour de T1D (an annual fundraiser started by her and her husband, Dr Richard Goudie, in honour of their son, Lukas, who lives with Type 1 Diabetes and in support of the Youth Diabetic Clinic at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ontario).
